UMIST SITE WALK AROUND | SUNSHINE MODERNISM

Walked around the old UMIST / now University of Manchester site in the September sunshine. It was looking near perfect, as if just built yesterday.

In addition, separating the site from London Road lies Anthony Holloway's 'Sculptural Wall'. Built in 1965, it was fenced off earlier in the year when it was cleared after becoming home to many of Manchester's homeless.

The clear out hasn't done anything to prevent the legal high-fuelled crisis that is evident across the city, just moving those must vulnerable to another location and another one after that. Grim.
